“Hopeless For Change”

Oh what the hell
you know I didn’t vote for the guy
I didn’t vote for the other guy
you know I voted for a guy who pulled out of the election
shows you what I think
But the progressive left
even some of the hardcored democrats
they expected a lot better from this guy
doesn’t pull us out of the war
doesn’t close up gitmo
can’t oppose the Republicans
Can’t even put up a damn public option
what use is this guy
I’m sorry
Actually
I’m lying I’m not sorry
I gotta vent a little here

This country went to hell for a hanging chad
like a drunken girl who wanted banging bad
woke up in the morning with a black president
a great depression and a massive deficit

a multi front war that keeps escalating
health care reform that’s not worth debating
issues of justice are not pursued
abuses of power are not reviewed

Republicans hate, that’s how they find mirth
But what exactly is a Democrat’s worth?
A broken man with a dollar bill
a soulless clown up on capitol hill

Carpetbagging riff raff down to the bone
like a cheating man that just won’t come home
Afghanistan Iraq, and now we’re in Yemen
Hope and change has lost its meanin

If you were to ask what me we’re needin
A girl in a blue dress to catch semen.

=======

You let the banks the run the bailout
You’ve got an economic blackout
your base feels demoralized
empty words can’t energize

=========
Massachusets was the light
to show what you’re not doing right
it’s not like you need to read a heiroglyph
let the DLC go walk off a cliff
Get rid of Rahm Emmanuel
Bernanke and Geitner as well
listen to the people who elected you
not the people who selected you
not the 30% anglopheliacs
not war loving necropheliacs
unemployment just keeps going up
people are starting to think you’re corrupt
you should stop and reevaluate
progressive principles and keep them straight
do this and you have a legacy
what you have now is a fallacy

that’s right Barrack.
A lot of people are depending on you.
Time to show you have some spine.
You can do the job, you’re qualified
but you gotta’ shut your mouth to get to work first.
Right now Orly Taitz could do better than you.

My career as a hip hop vocalist kicks off now…

…well you could say last September was the beginning of this experiment, when I first put together “Mad Symphony” (the song at the first set of links), but now I have ten songs out and I’m not sharing “the internal” mixes with you… but let’s say it’s funny the Rush Limbaugh song is the hottest shit I have right now.

Lebanon and Israel prepare for war

http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/fisk/robert-fisk-the-treelined-bunkers-that-could-change-the-face-of-the-middle-east-1874228.html

Robert Fisk: The tree-lined bunkers that could change the face of the Middle East

The border looks peaceful, but Hizbollah and Israel are preparing for war

It looks like a hop, skip and a jump. There's the first electrified fence, then the dirt strip to identify footprints, then the tarmac road, then one more electrified fence, and then acres and acres of trees. Orchards rather than tanks. Galilee spreads beyond, soft and moist and dark green in the winter afternoon – a peaceful Israel, you might think. And a peaceful Lebanon to the north, tobacco plantations amid the stony hills, just an occasional UN armoured vehicle to keep you on your toes. “Major Pardin says you cannot take pictures,” a Malaysian UN soldier tells me. Then a second one says the same. Then along comes a Lebanese army intelligence officer and stares at our papers. “OK, you have permission,” he declares, and I snap away with my old 36-frame real-film Nikon; the fields, the frontier fence, the high-tech surveillance tower on the horizon. This must be the most photographed border in the world.

Of course, the gentle countryside is an illusion. Benjamin Netanyahu and his colleagues in the Israeli government have been announcing that the only “army” of Lebanon is the Hizbollah, the Iranian-armed and Syrian-assisted guerrilla force whose bunkers and missiles north of the Litani river might just tip the balance in the next Hizbollah-Israeli war. And Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, the chairman of the Hizbollah, has been making some even more interesting threats: that his forces will “change the face of the Middle East region” if there is another war with Israel. No-one is in much doubt about what this means. The newly resurfaced Lebanese roads near the border – courtesy of Hizbollah money – suggest that someone might want to move men at high speed towards the frontier. Perhaps even to cross the border.

That's what the Israelis suspect, too – and it makes sense of Nasrallah's warning last week. The Hizbollah claimed that the 2006 war with Israel was a “divine victory” – it didn't feel that way to us in southern Lebanon at the time – yet even Israel admits it was a near-defeat for its own ill-trained soldiers. But how would Israel react if the Hizbollah managed to enter Israel itself? Israeli army commanders are talking about this in the Israeli press. A fast, dramatic spring across the frontier to the west – in the direction of Naharia, perhaps, or a grab at the settlement of Kiryat Shmona – and Hizbollah would announce it had “liberated” part of historic “Palestine”. Israel would have to bomb its own territory to get them out.

This is no game. The Israeli army wants to revenge itself on the Hizbollah, which humiliated it in 2006. Nasrallah – on giant-wide screens, for security reasons – often talks as if he's the Lebanese president. Did the Israelis really think al-Qa'ida or the Hizbollah were beind the attempted killing of two Jordanian diplomats between Amman and the Allenby bridge, Nasrallah asked. No friend of al-Qa'ida, Hizbollah would have succeeded in blowing them up if it had been involved. The crowd roared its agreement.

But the threats continue. The Israeli defence minister, Ehud Barak, says that the Lebanese government will be held responsible for any future war and the Lebanese have had the usual warnings from Israel. Lebanon's infrastructure will be attacked, its bridges and highways destroyed, its villages erased. Israel, Mr Barak has been saying, was restrained in 2006 – when it attacked Lebanon's infrastructure, destroyed its bridges and highways and erased its villages. Plus ça change.

But there's a good deal of “change”. Syria is being courted by the Obama administration. Its old allies in Lebanon – Druze leader Walid Jumblatt among them – are uttering honeyed words to Damascus. Indeed, Jumblatt has been meeting both Nasrallah and his old enemy Michel Aoun, and concluding that he is three-quarters of the way down the road to Damascus. And President Assad of Syria has been visiting Tehran again, to assure the Islamic Republic of his ever-loyal support.

You can see the way everyone is thinking. And here's the big question, the camel in the room. If Israel ignores Obama and attacks Iran's nuclear sites – a real aggression if ever there could be – the Hizbollah could fire rockets into Israel, perhaps even revealing its new anti-aircraft missile capacity. Hamas might join in from Gaza. Hamas is a tin-pot outfit; the Hizbollah is not. An Israeli attack on Iran will unleash Iranian military power against America. But part of that power is Hizbollah in Lebanon. This is serious business.

And this is why I like Dennis Kucinich

kucinich1 Exclusive: Kucinich shreds Democrats for betraying the promise of changeSlams health bill 'madness'

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) on Wednesday said the Massachusetts election was a “wake up call” for Democrats and that his party had better change course or it could suffer devastating losses come November.

“People elected Democrats in 2008 to change the direction,” he told Raw Story in a nearly hour-long interview.

“And the same entrenched interests that George Bush could not shake, this current White House is having great difficulty in shaking. One could suggest they might be more entrenched than ever.”

Kucinich staunchly defended liberalism but alleged that Democrats are not behaving like liberals.

ronpauldebate Ron Paul: After CIA coup, agency runs militaryUS House Rep. Ron Paul says the CIA has in effect carried out a “coup” against the US government, and the intelligence agency needs to be “taken out.”

Speaking to an audience of like-minded libertarians at a Campaign for Liberty regional conference in Atlanta this past weekend, the Texas Republican said:

There's been a coup, have you heard? It's the CIA coup. The CIA runs everything, they run the military. They're the ones who are over there lobbing missiles and bombs on countries. … And of course the CIA is every bit as secretive as the Federal Reserve. … And yet think of the harm they have done since they were established [after] World War II. They are a government unto themselves. They're in businesses, in drug businesses, they take out dictators … We need to take out the CIA.

Paul's comments, made last weekend, were met with a loud round of applause, but they didn't gather attention until bloggers noticed a clip of the event at YouTube.

Paul appeared to be referring to news reports that the CIA is deeply involved in air strikes against Al Qaeda targets in Afghanistan and Pakistan. A suicide bombing late last year against Forward Operating Base Chapman in Afghanistan took the lives of seven of CIA operatives, including two contracted from Blackwater. The event highlighted the CIA's deep involvement in the war effort.

Story continues below…

Paul's reference to the CIA being “in the drug business” refers to long-running allegations that the CIA has funded some of its covert operations with proceeds from drug-running. That claim was most famously made in a 1996 investigative report from the San Jose Mercury-News, which alleged that cocaine from the Contra-Sandinista civil war in Nicaragua was making its way to the streets of L.A. via the CIA.

What’s in a cigarette? FDA to study ingredients

By MICHAEL FELBERBAUM, AP Tobacco Writer Michael Felberbaum, Ap Tobacco Writer – 2 hrs 13 mins ago

RICHMOND, Va. – The Food and Drug Administration is working to lift the smokescreen clouding the ingredients used in cigarettes and other tobacco products.

In June, tobacco companies must tell the FDA their formulas for the first time, just as drugmakers have for decades. Manufacturers also will have to turn over any studies they've done on the effects of the ingredients.

Not much different than Nazis -> Israel seeks to expel Jewish-American Journalist working for Palestinian Maan News Agency – Democratic Underground

Israel seeks to expel Jewish-American Journalist working for Palestinian Maan News Agency

Edited on Sat Jan-16-10 09:11 AM by Douglas Carpenter

“Malsin was detained on Tuesday at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, as he and his girlfriend were returning from a holiday in the Czech Republic. They were then interrogated for eight hours, and the woman was expelled this morning.

Malsin's expulsion was stalled by an injunction filed by Ma'an's lawyers last night. His case will be heard by today.

According to a story on Ma'an's website, Malsin has been accused of entering Israel illegally, refusal to cooperate, lying to border officials, exploiting his Jewishness to get into Israel, and entering Israel on the basis of lies.

International Press Institute director David Dadge said that IPI was “troubled by the possibility that the Israeli authorities have detained and will deport Jared Malsin because they dislike the editorial policies at Ma'an News Agency.

“The authorities should recognise that the right of press freedom applies to all journalists, not just to reporters who write favourably about Israeli government policy.”

The agency was founded in 2005 with money from the Netherlands and Danish foreign ministries, and now receives funding through US government agencies. Based in Bethlehem, on the West Bank, it offers news coverage in both English and Arabic.

Its journalists, as with most Palestinian journalists working for agencies based in the Palestinian territories, receive only Palestinian press accreditation, which is not recognised by Israel.”

The truth becomes apparent
Harsh language of mine aside, this is what it comes down to. Progressive / Democrats did not want a centrist government and Obama and his masters thought they could ram one through if they just gave us a black candidate.
I hate to say it but Obama’s choice was like Palin’s choice. McCain used google. The DLC wanted either Obama or Hillary so they’d have a “new” face on the presidency. It was all about putting the centrist in.
That being said, vast difference between Obama and Palin. Palin’s a narcissistic idio. Obama is at the very least intelligent. He makes stupid fucking choices and this is the result of it.
Analysis: Voter Ire Evident in Mass. Senate Race
WASHINGTON (AP) — The ill winds of an angry electorate are blowing against Democrats, the warning signs clear in a closer-than-expected Massachusetts Senate race that may doom President Barack Obama’s health care agenda and foreshadow the party’s election prospects this fall.
Anti-incumbent, anti-establishment sentiment is rampant. Independents are leaving Obama. Republicans are energized. Democrats are subdued. None of it bodes well for the party in power.
”It’s going to be a hard November for Democrats,” Howard Dean, the Democratic Party chairman in the 2006 and 2008 elections when the party took control of the White House and Congress, told The Associated Press in an interview. ”Our base is demoralized.”
While he praised Obama as a good president, Dean said the Democrat hasn’t turned out to be the ”change agent” the party thought it elected, and voters who supported Democrats in back-to-back elections now are turned off. Said Dean: ”They really thought the revolution was at hand but it wasn’t, and now they’re getting the back of the hand.”
Just how much voters have soured since Obama took over a country in chaos is reflected in the president’s late-game decision to rush to Massachusetts on Sunday to try to stave off an extraordinary Republican upset in the race for a Senate seat held by Democrats for more than half a century.

Obama staffer wants ‘cognitive infiltration’ of 9/11 conspiracy groups

casssunstein Obama staffer wants cognitive infiltration of 9/11 conspiracy groupsIn a 2008 academic paper, President Barack Obama's appointee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs advocated “cognitive infiltration” of groups that advocate “conspiracy theories” like the ones surrounding 9/11.

Cass Sunstein, a Harvard law professor, co-wrote an academic article entitled “Conspiracy Theories: Causes and Cures,” in which he argued that the government should stealthily infiltrate groups that pose alternative theories on historical events via “chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine” those groups.

As head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Sunstein is in charge of “overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs,” according to the White House Web site.

Sunstein's article, published in the Journal of Political Philosphy in 2008 and recently uncovered by blogger Marc Estrin, states that “our primary claim is that conspiracy theories typically stem not from irrationality or mental illness of any kind but from a 'crippled epistemology,' in the form of a sharply limited number of (relevant) informational sources.”

By “crippled epistemology” Sunstein means that people who believe in conspiracy theories have a limited number of sources of information that they trust. Therefore, Sunstein argued in the article, it would not work to simply refute the conspiracy theories in public — the very sources that conspiracy theorists believe would have to be infiltrated.

Story continues below…

Sunstein, whose article focuses largely on the 9/11 conspiracy theories, suggests that the government “enlist nongovernmental officials in the effort to rebut the theories. It might ensure that credible independent experts offer the rebuttal, rather than government officials themselves. There is a tradeoff between credibility and control, however. The price of credibility is that government cannot be seen to control the independent experts.”

Download a PDF of the article here.

Sunstein argued that “government might undertake (legal) tactics for breaking up the tight cognitive clusters of extremist theories.” He suggested that “government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action.”

“We expect such tactics from undercover cops, or FBI,” Estrin writes at the Rag Blog, expressing surprise that “a high-level presidential advisor” would support such a strategy.

Estrin notes that Sunstein advocates in his article for the infiltration of “extremist” groups so that it undermines the groups' confidence to the extent that “new recruits will be suspect and participants in the group’s virtual networks will doubt each other’s bona fides.”

Sunstein has been the target of numerous “conspiracy theories” himself, mostly from the right wing political echo chamber, with conservative talking heads claiming he favors enacting “a second Bill of Rights” that would do away with the Second Amendment. Sunstein's recent book, On Rumors: How Falsehoods Spread, Why We Believe Them, What Can Be Done, was criticized by some on the right as “a blueprint for online censorship.”

Sunstein “wants to hold blogs and web hosting services accountable for the remarks of commenters on websites while altering libel laws to make it easier to sue for spreading 'rumors,'” wrote Ed Lasky at American Thinker.
